No Sew Pillow Upgrades

Finding two plain pillows that matched my outdoor cushions was a stroke of luck. Even better was their unexpected sale price. And, since my sewing machine is still broken, I couldn't sew my own. However, the plain pillows weren't too exciting. Looking at my craft supplies, I found two different kinds of burlap and some twine. With the help of some liquid stitch, I layered the burlap on one side of the pillow, for a quick and easy upgrade. The final touch was the addition of a twine bow, which I think is really sweet. The cost of these pillows with the upgrades would have been at least, three or four times what I paid for them.

They look great on the bench that I recently painted. See how I achieved the whitewashed look here.

They also look pretty layered with the print pillows and cushions on the chairs around my fire pit. I'm sure I will move them around, as the mood strikes me this summer.

So, buy the inexpensive, plain pillows and upgrade them with all kinds of fun embellishments. No sewing required - just your creativity :-)

Happy Wednesday!
